Spring's OP/ED Compilation~ [Finale]

Finally the last of this season's OP/ED compilation! As a sum up, I would say that the Spring season is one of the biggest. There are plenty of 'worthy' series as well. And of course, the musics is pretty decent too, though probably not the best on average, season-wise.

Fate/Zero (Part 2)

This is the 2nd part of the series which continued after the break. This is the prequel of Fate/Stay Night so for those who have watched it, you should probably know the outcome for Fate/Zero. I am still however not that satisfied with the ending with Saber just 'disappearing' all of a sudden. I do however, hope that they would continue to tell the story by animating the sequel of Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia though I have heard rumors that it isn't that good.

Opening 1 Theme: 「to the beginning」 by Kalafina

Comments: I never really liked Kalafina's style of singing but personally I think this song is great! Though it would be much better as the ending of the series, which it eventually did became. The PV is pretty well done as well. I like how they applied the purple filter to the lightnings.

Comments: Another song by Kalafina. Might readjust my midset about all of Kalafina's song. Though they have more or less the same singing style, some of them are really great. Take the OP and this for example. Also, it is kinda rare for a series to use the songs in the same single by the same artiste.

Ending 2 Theme: 「Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau」 by Luna Haruna

Comments: This song is brilliant! Watching it with the PV make it even greater! Search for it on YouTube and you will be able to find the live version. Even the live version is amazing. Need to research more on Haruna Luna when I have time. :3 I personally feels that this ending fits in almost perfectly with the series!

Ending 3 Theme: 「to the beginning」 by Kalafina

Comments: It is the exact same song for the OP Theme. It was used as the ED if I had not remember wrongly on the last episode. I personally feel that it, being the ED, is more fitting.

Nazo no Kanojo X

So they ended the series without following the Manga. Without having read the manga at all, I am really satisfied with its 'anime ending'. It is probably one of the few series in Spring with a really good end and probably the only few series ever to have a good 'original ending'. Though still, i wouldn't really recommend it simply to just anyone because of the 'drool'. You may need to be mentally prepared when you first begin to watch this series. It's weird but, it's good.

Comments: This is one of my favourite song in the season. Really love Ayako Yoshitani's voice. It's just so sweet~ In my opinion, this songs fits in very well as the OP of the series. Watching it with the OP animation makes it much better, though it would only be 1:30mins. The full version is just as great as the TV sized version. I could not find the full unedited version of the song but the dialogue around the middle from the video source isn't bad too.

Comments: Firstly, the full version is not yet out. Next, after a little research, I realized that Ayako Yoshitani is the voice actress of Urabe Mikoto, the female protagonist of the series. And it seems that Urabe is her first voiced character. :O Would definitely love to hear her more in the future. I can't believe that the voice of Urabe is actually the one performing the theme songs! They just sounds so different! She is really a talented and promising seiyuu.

 

Kuroko no Basuke

I don't really watch sports anime but this is one series that might change my mind. Almost everyone I met that had watched the series claims that this series is just too awesome to be missed. I have heard bits and pieces of 'spoilers' around the internet about this series and they have indeed sparked my interest. I might give it a try right after my long queue of anime to be completed.

Comments : DAT VIBRATO! 0_0 Okay, way toooo much vibrato for me to handle. The vibrato aside, this is a pretty good upbeat song. Having not watch the series before, I already have a slight image of the op sequence just by hearing the song(without watching the PV). Watching the PV, it basically shows that this songs is made for the series.

Opening 2 Theme: 「RIMFIRE」 by GRANRODEO

Comments : This is the new OP for the series. No full version. Okay, I am really starting to hate that vibrato. =.= And I personally much prefer the first than this. Even when watching it together with the animation, it really does not have the theme of the series. It would be a more suitable Opening Theme for shows like perhaps Full Metal Alchemist, which have a decent amount of plot and action. Though the FMA songs are really one of the best.

Comments : マジで！？ THE ACTORS OF THE PV IS REALLY THE REAL SINGERS OF THE SONG!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? That Caucasian guy really doesn't have the same look as the owner of the voice in the song. And he looks a little like mixed blood. Hmmm. Interesting band. Singers aside, I really love this song. It is a very fun piece to listen to. And it also did have a slight feel relating back to the series so I definitely give it my approval! (Y)

Comments : No full version and this ED is so underrated! It sooo should be made the OP of the series. All the bands performing for the series are those that I have never came across before. Might pause and browse Hyadain and OLDCODEX's (really weird names) songs when I come across them in the future. I believe it will be great. I can't really comment much about this ED as I don't know why but it is really kind of short. I wonder how will the full version sound.

Kikansha Thomas

I was like 'ARE YOU JOKING ME?' when I first saw it in the spring chart. @_@ I can't find any information regarding the theme song used here but it isn't anything unexpected.


 

Metal Fight Beyblade Zero-G

Having been one of a 'Beyblade' fanatic in my younger days, I would like to say that this series will probably not end anything soon. Believe it or not, they are probably earning big bucks through the sale of the toys and merchandise which is a hit with the youngsters.

Comments : I always thought YU+KI was a female! Gomen'nasai! Never did hear his song before but came across the name many times. And again, I never thought it was a male! Facts aside, this has the usual "children" anime feel though I don't think it fits the theme. And no full version sorry~

Comments :The ending is so much better! Though it still doesn't have much of the series' theme. Also, I assumed that the TV sized version for a full length anime would be at least 1min and 25 seconds but for this series it's only 1 min each. That's short! And once again, sorry but I can't find the full version.


 

Cardfight!! Vanguard: Asia Circuit Hen

I really have no idea how this card game became so popular especially in the Asia region. Back in the old 'Yu-Gi-Oh' days, Yu-Gi-Oh's fame wasn't even anything near this feat. Having watch an episode or two on my local channel, I really don't think it deserves so much fame.

Comments: Definitely your usual JAM Project style! It is also definitely not their best song. Personally I feel that they could have done it much better. This song is just not powerful enough to be a JAM Project production! And I personally thinks that it doesn't really suit the anime as well, though having only watched one or two episode.

Comments : I was thinking that the name looked familiar... and when she starts singing, BAMP! It was the singer for Nyanpire ED! (Yes, I identified her from that >.<) Well, she also does Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu if I did not remember wrongly, but the Nyanpire ED is just too memorable ww. Personally I think that this song doesn't suit her. :< Don't ask me why but it is just my gut feel. Nyanpire ED kind of song would suit her more i think!


 

Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle 2

To tell the truth, the previous season was much better in terms of plot, though the current season is still ongoing. However, the character of Season 2 is definitely more 'developed'. I would say that the current season dragged too much with the non-main plot episodes, though you'd never know if they would link back to the main plot at the end because this is an original series.

Comments: The first few times when I listened to this song, it was good. But after listening to it countless time, i start to find the voice irritating(no offense). His voice is quite "high" and the rap in the middle... sorry but i really can't stand it. Though nevertheless, I know that it is still a good song, just not really my cup of tea. And lastly, i have no idea how this song connects with the series!?

Comments: Although it is completely unrelated to the series,  「Super step」 is an awesome song! Both the vocalist and instrumentalists are simply amazing! The voice is just right on the power scale too and that just made the song close to perfect! Though I have to wait for the full version before able to give me final verdict. :3

Tasogare Otome × Amnesia

Yes, it has ended. No more Yuuko service. No more romance with a ghost. I would not have an issue with the ending IF they ended it with Yuuko disappearing. But they had to continue and turn it into a 'happy end' with just  mins before the end of the episode. It is not that I am against a happy end or anything, but with just 5 mins you can't really turn a sad end into a happy end and expect them to connect well.

Comments: Not a bad song, have quite a strong "relation" to the series as well. Though personally I feel that it could be better. It just felt to me that Konomi Suzuki's full potential isn't expressed out with this song. Perhaps because the melody is very repetitive.

Comments: Research a little and Calendrier means "Lier" in french (correct me if I am wrong). My eyes was teary almost every time I hear this song. Goosebumps everywhere as well. This just shows how good Aki Okui-san managed to express the feeling of this song. Though, as a picky listener, I tend to find her voice a little too high-pitched for this song.

Comments: Yes! This is by Yuuko~ Though I seriously did not realize it until I looked up at the information for the series. And now that I listen to the song more closely, it really is by Yuuko~ I personally feels that Yuuko's voice is much suitable for it than the original though Yumi Hara, her seiyuu unfortunately did not managed to bring out the emotions! It is still a good one nevertheless.

Saki: Achiga-hen ~Episode of Side-A~

I can't believe the Achiga-hen spin-off is even more exciting than the main plot. Though probably it is due to the very good pacing of the plot advancement by the staffs. They know where to accelerate the story, where to give it a pause and where to cut if off. Another reason may be due to the intense environment that was set back in the main plot (i.e How everyone claims that Saki's Onee-chan is godly, Saki's awesome "Rinshan Kaihou" ability, the over-exaggerated 'super powers' of the tournament participants, etc.) Anyway, if you are a mahjong fan, I would highly recommend the series.

Comments: Very sweet song~ >w< I personally think that StylipS did a great job in this OP. And something about the PV I had to ask. So who got the largest piece of cookie in the end!? >.< And I spy a band-ception over here! For those who doesn't know it, part of StylipS (Yui Ogura +Ishihara Kaori) are actually from another band, YuiKaori.

Comments: The TV-Sized version was great but the full version is way better. Another sweet song by the seiyuu cast~ >w< So much love from the series! Especially love the "dialogue" part of the song at around the 1:55 mark and the part at around 3:00 mark of the song.

Comments: That first 12 seconds was simply godly! The chorus part is amazing. Though it could be much better if there was more "power". :( "So Futuristic Player~" is the part that I usually can't help but start to sing along. I personally feel that Miyuki Hashimoto-san's voice fits the song perfectly!

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san

(／・ω・)／にゃー！ (」・ ω・)」うー！is definitely the first thing anyone would relate to the series. Personally I am more of a Cthuko(Kuuko) lover than a Nyarlko(Nyaruko) lover. I find Nyaruko too... "noisy/active" usually. The series is pretty good though I wouldn't say it is excellent. A little too 'forceful' and perhaps disorganized. I have also heard that this current series doesn't not really follow the original.

Comments: This series is not just about fun and laughter. There are some serious scenes as well. Actually when Nyarko quieten down and goes on a serious mode, she's pretty attractive~ This song is also one of the more "less energetic" but serious part of the series. And I think the lyrics describe what Nyaruko is actually feeling, deep down too.

Too bad it is has 'ended'. Though it will be continuing at the next season which was long announced before hand. Can't wait~ This is really a good series and I definitely enjoyed my time watching it. It is much too awesome to be missed. Hopefully the ending would turn out decently. :3

Comments: A very upbeat song. And I can't remember where I heard Mami Kawada's songs before because she sounds very very familiar. If I am not wrong it should be Shakugan no Shana. This has a pretty good feel relating back to the series and is definitely a good song.

Comments: Much.Too.Slow.For.Me. :( Nagi Yanagi is a good singer, but this song is really too slow for me. And I personally thinks that it only managed to related back to the series during certain episodes where it ended with a similar mood.

Comments: Again! Need more of 「Vidro Moyou」-kind of song from her. Though I kinda like this song, not sure why. However it doesn't connects with the series. And and... the last few seconds gave me a slight shock so an advance warning.

Sakamichi no Apollon

Was really satisfied with the series till before the last episode. I find it much too 'rush' for the 3 to meet up. It kind of ended abruptly. From my point of view, it would be better for Kaoru to venture unknowing into the island Sentaro was on for maybe perhaps a voluntary medical trip or something and then had a surprise meeting with Sentaro. Not sure how Ritsuko will be able to enter into the story from here, but it would probably be better, my opinion of course.

Comments: Yay! YUKI is back~ I was her fan before she went on a hiatus. Can't believe she is now back~ That voice~ I know some haters hates it but I couldn't care much about them because this is amazing~ Was kinda not use to it at first when I first heard the song as that was not YUKI's usual style but after awhile it became a norm and it was great~ If you did not know it, YUKI is cute too~ But she's married with children. :P

Comments: Another touching song in this season. Motohiro Hata is perfect for this song. If you have heard his other songs before, you will know that they are filled with lots and lots and emotion and if you really put your heart into listening, you will definitely be touched. Lastly, spoiling the mood, WHERE IS SENTAROU's LIVE ACTION ACTOR IN THE VIDEO!?

Tsuritama

The climax for me of this series was like stocks market. Though I am satisfied with the current ending. Would be better if Yuuki and Erika really did start a relationship(though I prefer Natsuki and Erika) and if the story continues with Haru and his pal back to Earth. This is a original series so the chances aren't zero.

Comments: This has quite a fun and peculiar melody. The lyrics is pretty interesting as well. But it's kind of 'fresh' to me so I am still not that use to such style. Though I think it pretty well fits the anime which is also quite strange in its own ways. And also, that drummer in the PV is awesome! xD

Comments: Soooooo in love with this song~ I will also be putting it up under the recommended song section of the blog later. This is a cover version of the original done by Spitz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqm4qZlEoyk). I like the original but the cover is really awesome! I think even Spitz would be proud of the cover! Sayonara Ponytail(such a cute name) is a new band debut in 2011 and personally I feel that they have ample of potential. All 3 members has such a smooth and sweet voice. Not much is known about them except the fact that it is a '3-members' band expressed as 3 cute little cartoon characters. They do also have an official myspace page at: http://www.myspace.com/sayonaraponytail. One of the members is also quite an artist is I am not wrong. Eureka Seven AO

We finally saw a sign of Renton(really just a sign and just one frame) in one of the previous episode and the good news is that in a recent episode, Eureka and Geckkostate are back. Not sure if the members are too but at least there's Eureka. Halfway into the series and hopefully it will be able to change my mindset about how it is ruining the series.

Comments: I never did quite liked this opening theme unfortunately. Don't really like the style of their music. It sounds weird and 'random' to me. However I would say that it quite fit the series' theme. :) Also, the band members have quite an interesting background. But I won't elaborate here.

Comments: Sasuga FLOW~! They are just as great as they ever was! Though not released yet, I have a very good feeling the full version will be godly~ I mean, just hear the TV size and how great it is! They are also gonna be the guests for this year's AFA(singapore)~ Will be elaborating on that maybe in a new post or something. Really missed out a lot of posts. :( And there needs to be more of FLOW or more of those 'senior musicians' in the 'modern' anisongs in my opinion because I kind of had a feeling that currently anisongs have been abused badly to 'promote' new/less popular bands and that is saddening.

Comments: I love Stereopony and of course their song. First of all, would like to wish Aimi a fast recovery for her operation(yes, she went on a small operation recently). They will also be the guest for AFA ID(indonesia) this year, unfortunately only indonesia. Getting back to the topic, personally I don't quite like the song though it isn't bad. But i believe they could do much better as heard from their previous album. That was superb. Also, personally I think that it doesn't have the eureka seven's theme though the series is "crooked" too from the original. Anyway, can anyone tell me who the 'extra' guitarist in the PV is!? Hopefully not a new member as that isn't their former guitarist as well.

Comments: joy is a new band i believe. A '5-members' band to be exact. I could not find any more information about them though except their homepage: http://www.joyjoyjoy.jp/home/index.html. They will also be debuting with this song~ The vocalist' voice is just so darn sweet! (I almost though I had cavities~ xD) Though it really do not fit the anime's theme, I believe this is a good song! I am of course very interested in their profile and the full version and is too, looking forward to their future productions. [FYI, i played this song about 5 times because it is that good]

Shining Hearts ~Shiawase no Pan~

Remind me NOT to watch another RPG-adapted series again if I ever did so again. It will only just ruin the game. :( Really dissatisfied with the series just ending it there. Anyone could have guessed this would happen with the series 'dragging' even with 3 more episode left. 99% of my experience with RPG-adapted series is really poor and I do hope there will be some in the future that will change my mindset. :(

Comments: Firstly, let me have my fanboy scream... Ahhhhh Kanae Itou~ Next, going back into topic... this WAS suppose to be a RPG-adapted series... What went wrong? Nobody knows... This opening would be more suited as the ending in my opinion. And I have no idea what went wrong with the full version. I used to listen to the entire 1:30mins of the song for almost every episode because I was so in love with it. But the full version just kind of disappoint.

Comments: THIS! this might just be what 'destroyed' the series and gave it the "Oh! It's an anime about baking of breads" impression at the very beginning episodes among those "ignorant" watcher who have not played the game nor is willing to put an effort in reading the summary/description of the series. Firstly, let me clarify. I am not saying it is a bad song, in fact I am quite in love with it(actually much more than the opening, full version-wise). 
Although "bread" is one of the main 'element' of the series, it IS NOT the main thing about the series. The production team just did not bother to put an effort to "explain" it, instead they feature the whole bread-baking business on the first few episodes... even though the main focus of the anime was suppose to be the action as par the game. Either way, I believe that this ending has badly gave a support to the first 3 episode which created a serious misunderstanding of what the series was suppose to be.

Hyouka

Like what I had mentioned before, the solutions to the mysteries is really good. But because it is a pure mystery, it may be a little too dull and climax-less. With 20+ episode in total, I believe and hope that there will be a really big mystery at the end of the series. Fortunately, there are currently some 'hidden' character developments and that just added some spices to the kind-of-dull contents.

Comments: Not bad, though it doesn't have much of the anime's theme. :\ The chorus is quite catchy too. Saori Kodama's voice is very suited for the song too. Although this is the full version, it kind of feel like I am listening to the TV-Sized version instead. Not sure why, but probably because there's not much 'uniqueness' in the full version.

Comments: Ah Yes! This is one of my favorite songs of the season! The TV-sized version's animation is also pure win~ Go look for it on YouTube or something if you have not seen it before. They look really HHNNGGGG! rolling about and crawling around in the animation. lol. Not much of the series feel again, and the singers are actually the 2 girls of the classic club, if you didn't know that.

Comments: No full version yet unfortunately. I liked the first ending much more too although this has a much better link to the series. This isn't bad too. Really like the "Kimi no Misuterii~, Toite Mitai~" part of the chorus. I have a very good feeling the full version may be so good that it will beat the first ending but that all have to wait till it is released :T

Are you serious? An AKB48 anime? I don't care how good the series is, I will not and most definitely not watch it. I would not want to further 'encourage' the 'AKB48 fever'. They are already topping the music charts which they never did deserved, sold Music CDs way over the amount they are really worth, etc. I sound like a hater? Well, I'd say I am a 95% hater of their undeserved fame and their fans messing up the Music Charts. But there are still a 5% of me which still enjoy 'some' of their songs. Comments: If you are wondering if the "No Name" is a typo, NO it isn't. That is (obviously), a AKB48-related group. Their sub-groups to be exact. 
Seriously... their PV are always so "dramatic" and "generic"(keep in mind that I am a hater~ >:D). The song is also like a carbon-copy of most of their production except with a change of lyrics.
Okay, let me judge this using a non-bias point of view(I believe). Firstly, I have not seen the series but from what I have read of it(reviews, summaries, etc.) This song do not fit the series' theme at all. And I still think it is generic like most AKB48 songs. The song is also quite dull in some sense. And the PV is COMPLETELY random... =.= Give me back my 7mins of viewing.

Comments: At first I thought it was going to be an Enka... but Phew... it isn't. Again, it doesn't have much link to the anime from what I believe. Though personally this is much better than the OP, many many times better. At the very least, it is not the AKB48-generic type of song. :) Though I must say they should really not use the enka-like melody. I don't know, I am not a composer or anything. Just an opinion from a music-fanatic. To end it off, I must say this is quite a good song though it is quite dull until at the very end. The melody is also VERY repetitive.

Dafug is this!? Also, no information AT ALL on it so no idea whether it have a theme song or not. Therefore will be skipping it!
